MAY LEUNG.
B.S. - Chemical Engineering, UCLA , Expected Graduation Date:  July 2002

Research Interests

  • Crystallization and Nucleation of Mineral Salts
  • Scaling of RO Membranes and Scale Inhibition

Current Project

My current research project focuses on the development of a rapid method for determining the kinetics of calcium sulfate crystallization and the inhibition of crystallization using polymeric antiscalants. The results of my study will provide information needed to develop a comprehensive model for mineral surface scaling of RO membranes and ranking of antiscalants to be used in field studies of agricultural water desalting.
